The Chiltern Model Railway Association once again held its modellers' workshop in
2008. Under the promotional name of TIME - Totally Interactive Modelling Event
- the workshop involved modellers who belong to member organisations of the CMRA, presenting and demonstrating
items of modelling interest to colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere, away from exhibition constraints.
The event incorporated films, talks, discussions and practical demonstrations,
by leading figures in the railway modelling hobby. Some of those for 2008 were:
Ron Bailes - long serving railwayman, who recounted his time on the "Trains"
Ian Futers - who spoke about modelling Scottish Railways
Michael Watts - imparted knowledge on his form of baseboard construction
Christopher Payne - who gave a presentation on small layout design
Gordon & Maggie Gravett - on their layout "Pempoul - Réseau Breton"
Ron North - with his backscene studio
Trade who attended included John Dutfield Model Railways, Freestone Modelling Accessories, Modellers Mate
& Ceynix Railway Trees who also demonstrated the making of model trees. The infamous C.M.R.A. Member's Sales second-hand
stand also made an appearance.
